Persian Turquoise

Persian Blue is the most iconic color of Islamic art. Isfahan's mosques, "half the world," have Persian blue tile domes gleaming like sapphires in desert sun. The complex process involves grinding cobalt ore and firing at 1200°C. Persian blue traveled the Silk Road to China, inspiring blue-and-white porcelain.

Peacock Teal takes its name from India's national bird. In Indian culture, the peacock is sacred—it is Krishna's crown ornament, the goddess Saraswati's mount, and the embodiment of rain clouds. The Maurya Empire (c. 322-185 BCE), India's first unified empire, was named after the peacock.
